In order to work in the educational mode of InraPorc, use the following procedure:

  1. Conditions for using the educational version
  2. Download and install InraPorc
  3. Request (the renewal of) a license activation key
  4. Update the InraPorc.lic license file
  1. Conditions for working in the educational mode
  2. You have to work for (or be a student at) an official educational institution in order to work in the educational mode of InraPorc. Except for educational use, this license form is not available for individuals, non-profit or governmental organizations or for commercial use. To work in educational mode, InraPorc can be installed on a personal computer or on a shared network disk drive (e.g., for classroom teaching).

  3. Download and install InraPorc
    • Installation on a personal computer
    • Download the software and install the program and data files on the computer on which you intend to use InraPorc. After completing the installation, launch the program and fill out the requested information in the license management window.

    • Installation on a shared network drive
    • The installation procedure for a shared network drive is slightly different from the installation on a personal computer. In fact, only the InraPorc program files should be installed on a shared drive. User data should be installed in the home directories of the users. Installation on a shared network drive is a two-step process in which first the InraPorc program is installed followed by installation of the data files:

      • Download the software and install the program on a shared network drive (you may need to have administrative rights to do this). During the installation procedure, you should not install the data files. After completing the installation, launch the program and fill out the requested information in the license management window.
      • Now the data files have to be installed by each user. There are two ways to do this: by creating (standard) data files using the installation program (using the InstData.exe program located in the InraPorc program directory) or by copying modified data files to the students' home directories. The latter option allows teachers to modify or create specific data files with which students can work. Be sure that students copy all the data files (i.e., the whole directory structure).
  4. Request a license activation key
  5. See this animation for a step by step presentation.

    • The automatic way
    • This is the easiest method, but it requires an Internet connection. In the license management window, click on the 'Automatic'-button to send a request for an activation key.

    • The manual way
    • If the first method does not work (computer not connected to the Internet or firewall too much restrictive), click on the 'Manual'-button to save the license file InraPorc.lic (by default on the desktop). Optionally, copy this file to another computer from which you access the Internet and submit it to the following form:

After verification of the information, we will then include a temporary license activation key in the license file, which will be sent back to you by e-mail. Since this operation is done manually, this may take a few days. Save the e-mail attachment (InraPorc.lic) on your computer (for example on the Desktop), then return to the license window management and click on the 'Import'-button to load the activation key.

The license activation key is valid until December 31st of the current year.

  6. Update the InraPorc.lic license file
  7. You will have to request a new license activation key each year (step 3).
